Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated his commitment to training approximately one million young Ghanaians in coding and software applications if he emerges victorious in the 2024 elections.
Addressing a gathering in Kwahu Mpraeso on Saturday, March 30, 2024, following a special Easter health walk, Bawumia reaffirmed this promise, stressing the significance of technology in shaping the future and the need to harness its benefits.
Emphasizing the crucial role of youth in propelling technological progress, he asserted, “The future lies in technology, and the youth of this country are pivotal in driving our technological advancements. That’s why I’ve pledged to train about 1 million young Ghanaians in coding and software applications during my presidency.”
Furthermore, he pledged to implement bold decisions if elected, including the introduction of a new tax system.
“A vote for me is a vote for innovative solutions. Choosing my opponent means opting for outdated solutions. I bring fresh ideas and bold solutions to propel our nation forward. As I’ve mentioned, I propose a new tax system featuring a flat tax rate and offering tax amnesty to businesses and individuals,” he declared.
