In 2018, Burna Boy’s track “YE” unexpectedly gained attention from fans seeking Kanye West’s album of the same name. This unplanned exposure thrust Burna Boy into the global spotlight.

Taking advantage of this surge, Burna Boy dropped his fourth album, “African Giant,” in 2019, further cementing his stature as a dominant figure in global music.

With popular tracks like “On The Low,” “Gbona,” “Dangote,” “Killing Dem,” and “Anybody,” “African Giant” enjoyed immense success in Nigeria and abroad.

Now, five years post-release, “African Giant” has achieved platinum status in France, exceeding 100,000 units in sales, as confirmed by SNEP (Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique).

This milestone is primarily credited to the individual platinum certifications of “On The Low” and “Gbona” in France.
