Actor Ibrahim Chatta Mourns the Loss of His Son

Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has been struck by tragedy following the death of his son.

The 54-year-old shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram over the weekend, posting a photo of his late child with the caption: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, you are the knower of all things. Rest on, dear son, champ.”

This isn’t the first time Chatta has faced such devastating loss. He once revealed that his first child, a baby girl, passed away years ago after he was unable to afford medical treatment. He recalled the painful memory of having to bury her in a wooden crate when help came too late.

The actor’s grief comes only days after another Nollywood star, Peju Ogunmola, lost her only son, Ayomikun, on September 2, 2025. Ayomikun, 24, was the child of Ogunmola and her husband, Omobolanle Sunday.

In a different story, singer Nwachukwu Ozioko, popularly known as Vast from the music duo Bracket, reflected on his battle with lymphoma in 2013. Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast, Vast described the experience as unforgettable, adding that the support of his team—who came together to cover his treatment costs—played a vital role in his recovery.
