Renowned Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor is currently grappling with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke, revealed by his cousin Tony Muonagor in a recent Facebook post.
Tony highlighted Amaechi’s challenging health journey during his three-week hospitalization, mentioning the actor’s prolonged battle with diabetes and the recent stroke that has added complexity to his condition. Amaechi is currently undergoing weekly dialysis and other treatments at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.
While the family has been covering the costs for years, the recent stroke has substantially increased the financial burden, prompting the need for public awareness. Tony expressed his pride in Amaechi as a “brother” and clarified their close relationship as first cousins.
Tony addressed misinformation about their familial connection in some online reports and extended gratitude to Amaechi’s fans, friends, and well-wishers for their support. Providing an update on Amaechi’s condition, Tony mentioned some improvement in blood sugar control but emphasized the ongoing need for sustained funding or donations to support the actor’s complete recovery.
