Famous crossdresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has made his appearance at the Federal High Court in Lagos for his scheduled arraignment.

Escorted by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Bobrisky arrived at the court premises in a white bus at 9:12 a.m. Presently, he remains inside the bus as parties await his arraignment.

The trial judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, is currently presiding over other cases, with Bobrisky’s case listed as No. 10 on the court’s docket.

Bobrisky, apprehended by the EFCC on Wednesday, faces a six-count charge related to currency abuse and alleged money laundering.

As per the charge sheet filed by EFCC Prosecutor, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Rotimi Oyedepo, alongside seven other lawyers, Bobrisky is accused of several instances of currency abuse. He allegedly tampered with sums of money while dancing at various social events, contravening Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.

Additionally, Bobrisky is charged with failure to submit a declaration of activities for his company, Bob Express, during the period when substantial sums of money were deposited into the company’s Ecobank account. These allegations are in violation of the Money Laundering (Prevention And Prohibition) Act.
