Nigerian music icon, Innocent Ujah Idibia, widely known as 2baba or 2face, has shared his thoughts on the status of his fellow artist, Burna Boy, in the music industry. There’s been ongoing discussion among music enthusiasts about Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, debating who holds more prominence nationally and internationally.

In a recent Instagram story post, 2baba praised Burna Boy, commending him for his hard work and establishing himself as one of the greatest music icons in the industry. According to 2baba, regardless of people’s opinions, Burna Boy’s impact remains undeniable.

He expressed, “Call this my talk anything u like. This young man has worked, proven, and stamped himself as one of the greatest music icons. Hate him or love him. E no go change fact. Kudos to everyone that is part of making this fact happen. Oluwa Burnafide.”

Veteran talent manager and music executive, Obi Asika, also weighed in on the conversation. Asika noted that newer Nigerian artists owe their existence to the influence of their veteran predecessors. He highlighted Wizkid as D’banj’s successor and Burna Boy as Daddy Showkey’s successor.

Asika remarked during a recent episode of the Hip TV program, Trending, “2Face has a grass to grace story, the same with Daddy Showkey. These are legends. You can’t have a Burna Boy without a Daddy Showkey.”
