Davido has just introduced his latest project, Nine+ Records, in collaboration with UnitedMasters.

The renowned Nigerian artist, who has been nominated for a Grammy three times and is a trailblazer in the Afrobeats genre, will be taking the lead in artist development, A&R, and the overall curation behind the scenes, nurturing a talented lineup of artists under the umbrella of Nine+ Records.

In expressing his excitement about the partnership with Steve and the UnitedMasters team, Davido stated, “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Steve and the UnitedMasters crew. This announcement marks an exhilarating new phase for both emerging and established artists worldwide.”

Steve Stoute, the founder and CEO of UnitedMasters, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Over the past couple of years, we’ve demonstrated our dedication to Africa through investments in artists, education, and technology. Now, we’re taking it to the next level. Through this new venture with Davido and the launch of Nine+ Records, we’re furthering our mission of serving as a platform for artists on the continent. Together, we’ll seek out and nurture fresh talent while providing them with valuable brand and synchronization opportunities.”

Stoute shared with Billboard his thoughts on the new partnership, expressing, “There’s a huge global opportunity, and I see him as an entrepreneur who could shape the next Bad Boy, the next Death Row, and the next label with a significant impact like Cash Money.”

This announcement comes amidst a series of exciting developments from the forward-thinking music distribution company. In December 2023, Billboard broke the news exclusively, stating, “UnitedMasters has officially launched in Nigeria. The global music distribution platform aims to link independent African artists with the global stage.”

During Grammy weekend in 2024, UnitedMasters held its annual “A Celebration of Independence” Grammy Concert at the Palladium in Hollywood, California. The event featured a stellar lineup, headlined by Davido, along with Uncle Waffles, Tokischa, Donavan’s Yard, and NLE Choppa.

The Source commented, “This marked the first instance UnitedMasters showcased international acts, solidifying its influence and presence within the global independent artist movement.” Upon learning of his three Grammy nominations, Davido took to social media, proclaiming, “Three nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not denial!!”

UnitedMasters is home to talented artists like Brent Faiyaz, BigXThaPlug, Anycia, Ekkstacy and many more.
