Our paths finally crossed in June 2018 at Raony’s best friend’s birthday celebration. Interestingly, our friends had been suggesting introductions for a while, considering both of us were single. What adds a unique twist to our meeting is the countless times we had almost met before without realizing it. Whenever he was around our friends, I happened to be occupied, or as soon as he left, my taxi would arrive. So, we had heard about each other without ever officially meeting face to face.

On our mutual friend’s birthday, there were no assigned seats, so we casually took the first available spots. Later, our friends shared that he had requested everyone to shift so we could sit together since he was originally placed at the table’s end. We spent the evening in delightful conversation and laughter, appreciating the fact that his company is always engaging. As time went by, a year later, we decided to share a home. Two years into our journey, we formalized our commitment with a civil partnership. Now, after enjoying five years together, we are gearing up to celebrate our marriage with our families, friends, and the legal recognition it deserves.
