Doja Cat is transitioning from cat to bat.
Following her appearance as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette at the Met Gala, the “Say So” rapper has debuted a new tattoo that features a bat skeleton and covers her entire back.
She posted a series of photos showing her new tattoo from various angles, as well as some words explaining the significance of bats.
“Bats frequently represent death in the sense of letting go of the old and welcoming in the new,” according to the passage. “They are symbols of transition, initiation, and the start of a new beginning.”
The tattoo, dubbed “Doja Bat,” was created by celebrity artist Mr. K of Bang Bang, who has previously worked with Justin Bieber and Rita Ora.
Doja’s fans defended her against the expected backlash. “I’m sure the illuminati conspiracy theories will run wild with this,” one user wrote, while another added, “The fact that she has to post the symbolic meaning so people don’t accuse her of devil worship is wild.”
Doja’s tattoo collection has grown yet again. She recently got a mythological creature tattooed on her arm, inspired by the 1665 edition of Fortunio Liceti’s “De Monstris.”
