Catholic Priest Warns Against Unverified Miracle Testimonies
Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, a Catholic missionary priest working in Gambia, has issued a cautionary note about believing in miraculous testimonies unless they are thoroughly verified. The priest’s warning comes amid a surge of controversial videos showing church members sharing dramatic stories of miraculous interventions during services.
In recent weeks, various videos have surfaced featuring testimonials that have sparked widespread skepticism. One video shows an elderly woman recounting a dream where she allegedly overcame four armed robbers and ensured the arrest of three. Another features a man claiming to have survived multiple violent attacks without any injuries, raising eyebrows about the legitimacy of these accounts.
Fr. Ugwu has taken to social media to address these concerns, urging people to approach such testimonies with caution. On his Facebook page, he advised, “Don’t be swayed by miracle testimonies in churches or ministries. If they haven’t been independently verified, consider them as unproven and potentially misleading.”
His advice underscores the importance of critical thinking and verification in the face of sensational claims, reminding believers to remain discerning and not to be easily swayed by unverified stories.
