Emily Ratajkowski called out Ellen DeGeneres in Taylor Swift’s resurfaced 2012 interview

Emily Ratajkowski explained her decision to speak out about Taylor Swift’s resurfaced 2012 interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Two months after calling out the talk show host, 65, Swift looks visibly uncomfortable as Ellen continues to grill her on her dating life.

In an interview with Elle for their April 2023 Impact Issue, the model and actress, 31, explained why she chose to speak out.

Emily told the outlet, “I recently became a Swiftie.” “I loved her last album and saw her documentary, but I hadn’t been following her career in the same way for the last ten years.” I was struck by how open she is about what motivates her while watching that [interview]. she’s being about what is making her uncomfortable.”

The High Low With Emrata podcast host noted that perspectives have shifted from the day the interview was released to today, which is what stood out to her.

“I think the lens through which I would have viewed that interview 10 years ago versus now has evolved so much,” the 31-year-old continued. “I was falling asleep in bed and commented on it, not because I thought it would make headlines at all.”

She went on to say that Swift’s interview is just one example of a larger pattern. She called it “another example of a woman who has faced such blatant misogyny and sexism, and yet we don’t want to admit it, because she’s powerful and successful, and also because she’s white.”
