Cleopas Dlamini, Prime Minister of Eswatini, stated in Taipei on Monday that his country is committed to diplomatic relations with Taiwan and opposes “any sort of bullying or aggression” against Taiwan.
“The people of Taiwan should be governed within Taiwan by a government elected by them in free and fair elections, with no external pressure,” Mr. Dlamini said during a meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen.

Mr. Dlamini also expressed gratitude to the Taiwanese government for its decades of support for Eswatini.
Eswatini is the only African country and one of 14 countries in the world with diplomatic relations with Taiwan, which China considers a breakaway province.
Taiwan and Eswatini will commemorate 55 years of diplomatic relations in September.
