Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage recently shared a surprising perspective on infidelity, revealing that every man she has dated has been unfaithful. However, she made it clear that cheating has never been the reason for ending any of her relationships.
During an interview on The Receipts Podcast, the award-winning artist opened up about her approach to relationships, explaining that she has always chosen forgiveness when faced with infidelity.
“I’ve been cheated on before, and I’ve found out about it and forgiven every time,” Savage admitted. “Every man I’ve ever been with has cheated, and I’ve never left them because of it. I’ve walked away for other reasons, but not because of cheating. Cheating just isn’t my deal-breaker.”
While Savage may be forgiving when it comes to infidelity, she made it clear that disrespect is a boundary she won’t cross. She explained that dishonesty and embarrassment surrounding infidelity are what truly hurt.
“What really hurts is the lies—maybe other people knew, and I felt foolish, or they’ve known for a long time. The disrespect is what pushes me to walk away, not necessarily the act itself. I’ve never ended a relationship solely because of cheating,” the 44-year-old singer said.
Tiwa Savage went on to highlight the real reasons behind some of her past breakups. She mentioned drug abuse, emotional neglect, ghosting, financial betrayal, and emotional abuse as some of the key factors that led to the end of previous relationships.
“I’ve left for so many other reasons—drug abuse, emotional neglect, ghosting, financial betrayal, emotional abuse—but cheating? No,” Tiwa Savage added.
