Fans of the Fugees are rallying around Pras Michel, who recently testified in his federal conspiracy trial and admitted to being an FBI informant.

Pras told Rolling Stone in March that he faces up to 22 years in prison for his alleged involvement in a money-laundering scheme and association with a foreign country attempting to influence the US government.

Pras has been charged with “conspiring to make illegal campaign contributions using foreign funds,” as well as witness tampering and failing to register as a Chinese government foreign agent.

Prosecutors claim Pras gave $1.1 million to Barack Obama’s 2016 campaign, but the funds were actually given by Jho Low, a Malaysian fugitive wanted in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal. Through Low, Pras also contributed to Trump’s campaign.

“What would I gain by breaking the law?” “It’s not worth it to me,” Pras explained to RS. “I feel like a pariah now.” I have friends who won’t talk to me because they believe a satellite in orbit is listening in.”

Pras and Fugees fans are now accusing the rapper of being an informant.

“When you consider Wyclef’s charity scams, Pras being fed, Lauryn’s live performance grift, and John Forte’s dope dealing, the Fugees camp is first team All-Infamous,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another person expressed their displeasure, writing, “As someone who grew up on the Fugees. This pras news is insane.”
