Halle Bailey and DDG embraced a wave of nostalgia this Halloween. They delighted their Instagram followers on October 31 with a charming costume choice, paying tribute to none other than Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

In the initial snapshot, Halle beautifully channeled the late singer’s iconic self-titled album, “Whitney.” In the second image, both Halle and DDG transported us back to the 1993 Billboard Music Awards, rekindling the spirit of Houston and Brown.

Just a few days earlier, on October 29, Halle and her partner captivated the internet by taking on the personas of the legendary characters from the 1993 film “Poetic Justice,” originally portrayed by Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur. Their uncanny resemblance to these characters earned admiration from fans, and Halle even shared a TikTok video, in which she masterfully recreated a scene from the movie.

Halle playfully captioned the series of photographs with a nod to Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 hit “Poetic Justice” with the words, “Poetic justice, put it in a song.” Feast your eyes on their delightful Halloween transformations below.

Halle has always been inspired by the legendary Janet Jackson and has often paid tribute to her over the years. During the New York Fashion Week, the 23-year-old singer expressed her admiration for the “That’s the Way Love Goes” artist, referring to her as her constant source of inspiration while attending Pandora’s Diamond District pop-up event in September.

In a different vein, Halle’s sister, Chlöe Bailey, opted to embody the character of Daenerys Targaryen from the popular series “Game of Thrones.” This choice wasn’t arbitrary, as the pair had previously contributed to the soundtrack of the show in 2019 with their song “Wolf at Your Door,” featured on the album “For the Throne: Music Inspired by the HBO Series ‘Game of Thrones.'”

Additionally, Halle’s relationship with DDG has been a subject of interest since their public announcement in 2022. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she opened up about how love profoundly influences her music.

“Love has played a significant role for me as well because it’s something I’m experiencing for the first time, and it’s like a revelation in your mind. It’s an explosion of emotions, igniting creativity,” she shared. “You go through puppy love, thinking that’s the real deal. But this is my first profound and genuine experience of love.”
