Former Big Brother Naija star and actress, Victoria Iye, better known as Vee, has opened up about one of her biggest personal goals: making sure she doesn’t have a child with the wrong man.

In a candid video shared on Instagram, Vee admitted that dating in Lagos isn’t easy and explained why she is extra cautious about the kind of relationships she allows herself to step into. For her, protecting her peace and mental well-being comes first.

She revealed that one of her biggest fears is ending up with a partner who might later disrespect or speak badly about her, which is why she sets clear boundaries.

According to her, this careful approach sometimes makes love harder to find, but she believes it’s better to be cautious than to live with regret. She noted that while no one can ever fully know a partner before committing, it’s important to make thoughtful choices.

Vee added that she prefers to learn from the experiences of others—especially those shared online—rather than repeating the same mistakes.

“It’s my mission in life to avoid the wrong man getting me pregnant. It’s not because I think I’m better than women who’ve been in that position—it’s just because I know myself. I try to avoid situations that could put me in a bad state of mind.

“I’m passionate about not being taken advantage of, and maybe that’s why finding true love feels harder sometimes. I’m stubborn, I’m headstrong, but I’m not stupid. Choosing a life partner is serious, and even though you can’t know someone completely, you can at least do your best.

“For me, other people’s stories are lessons—I don’t need to experience pain first-hand to know it’s not for me.”
