President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran has embarked on a significant three-day tour of Africa, starting with Kenya. This visit marks a historic moment, as it is the first time in over a decade that an Iranian president has set foot on African soil. Following Kenya, President Raisi is scheduled to visit Uganda and Zimbabwe as part of his diplomatic mission.
Accompanying the president is his diplomatic chief and a delegation of business representatives, underscoring Iran’s aim to forge new alliances and explore commercial opportunities in the region.
In recent times, President Raisi has been actively engaging with other parts of the world as well. Notably, he has visited Latin America and Indonesia, where Iran successfully rejoined the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, strengthening its ties and cooperation with these nations.
This African tour signifies Iran’s commitment to broadening its global outreach and fostering mutually beneficial relationships across continents.
