President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Wa, President Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude for their support during his tenure and shared his intention to return to the area with the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as his successor.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized that he would not hand over power to John Dramani Mahama, whom he defeated in 2016, outlining his commitment to the party’s succession plan with Dr. Bawumia as his chosen successor.

He assured the community of his dedication to maintaining peace and stability throughout the election period and beyond, urging their support and cooperation.

“As we uphold our reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa, I urge us to work together to ensure peace and stability during and after the upcoming elections,” President Akufo-Addo stated, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to national peace.
