The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has made some significant decisions following the tragic passing of actor Junior Pope Odonwodo and others in a boating accident.

Junior Pope lost his life during a movie shoot for “Another Side of Life,” produced by Adanma Luke. The accident occurred when their boat capsized in the waters of River Niger in Asaba, Delta State.

Initially, there were reports that Junior Pope was revived, but the AGN has confirmed his demise. Consequently, they have suspended filming in riverine areas and boat rides until further notice.

In a statement, AGN President Emeka Rollas announced several measures: the indefinite suspension of films involving riverine areas and boat rides, a nationwide halt to all shoots on April 11, 2024, the indefinite suspension of “Another Side of Life,” a directive against actors collaborating with Adanma Luke as a producer until further notice, and heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

This decision follows conflicting reports initially stating Junior Pope’s survival, which were later corrected by the AGN president. Despite efforts to revive him, Junior Pope couldn’t be saved.

As the search for the remaining bodies continues, the AGN mourns the loss of these individuals, hoping for their souls to rest in peace.
