After being involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Nairobi’s capital, a Kenyan lawmaker died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
Kullow Maalim Hassan was a second-term Member of Parliament for the Banisa constituency in north-eastern Kenya.
According to his family, the MP was hit by a speeding motorcycle rider on Saturday. On Tuesday night, he was pronounced dead.

On social media, lawmakers have been paying tribute to their colleagues.
“Maalim was a dedicated and committed public servant,” said parliament’s majority leader, Kimani Ichung’wah.
“Kulow was a good person who was particularly dedicated to his oversight as well as other parliamentary duties,” said Mwengi Mutuse, MP for Kibwezi West.
