As the world awaits King Charles III’s coronation on May 6, the question of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their young children’s attendance looms.

“King Charles very much wants Prince Harry and his grandchildren at his coronation,” a source close to the royal family tells ET.

Since the release of Prince Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, and his docuseries with Meghan, Harry & Meghan, the royal family has been at the center of a media storm.

“Despite any issues or difficulties that have arisen as a result of what has been revealed in Harry’s book, Charles loves his son.” “He wants both of his children to be there for such a special occasion,” a source tells ET. “The family wants the king to be happy, and having his son travel from America at such a critical juncture in his life will make Charles happy.”

“Harry will be welcomed by his family because it is important to his father,” the source adds. There will be no visible signs of conflict or focus on previous family squabbles. Everyone wants the coronation to be the center of attention.”

On May 6, King Charles III will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in London. However, the event coincides with the fourth birthday of Harry and Meghan’s oldest child, Archie. Lilibet, the Sussexes’ 1-year-old daughter, is also a member of the family.

Archie and Lilibet were recently bestowed with official royal titles. Archie and Lilibet are now listed as prince and princess on the royal family’s official website.

The California-based royals were officially invited to the coronation earlier this week, according to Harry and Meghan’s rep. “The duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation. An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time,” the rep said at the time.

While the invitation may indicate that Charles wishes to mend fences, it comes after he evicted Harry and Meghan from their Frogmore Cottage home, which became Harry and Meghan’s official residence following their royal wedding in 2018.
