Love is in full bloom as some of Hip Hop and R&B’s beloved figures embrace parenthood. Today, LightSkinKeisha and Coca Vango proudly announced the arrival of their first child together.
As reported by PEOPLE, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Amin on Jan. 14 at 12:08 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. and 8 oz. “We are absolutely enamored with our son; he embodies everything we hoped for,” she expressed to the publication. “My pregnancy journey was smooth sailing, thanks to my husband’s unwavering support, making it stress-free and easy. Time flew by, and now he’s here, bringing joy directly into our lives.”
LightSkinKeisha unveiled her pregnancy officially in September 2023 through a captivating maternity shoot on Instagram. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “Words fall short to describe the feeling, but holding him and having skin-to-skin contact made me realize I could go through it all over again, perhaps two more times. He’s incredibly adorable, and our hearts are overflowing with love for him,” the proud new mother disclosed to PEOPLE.
Vango, who is also a father to an 8-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, shared that initially, their obstetrician informed them they were expecting a girl. “It feels like God is carrying forward the legacy. My father’s name was Amin, mine is too, and now Baby 3 is the third. We’re filled with happiness and gratitude that he’s here,” the rapper elaborated.
LightSkinKeisha joins the ranks of celebrities who have quietly welcomed a child, though unlike Halle Bailey and DDG, she didn’t keep her pregnancy concealed. The “Ride Good” artist tied the knot with Vango privately in January after a six-year courtship.
On the musical front, LightSkinKeisha released Thought I Was Done? in May 2023. The album, featuring nine tracks, included a collaboration with DreamDoll and standout hits like “A$$ On Me” and “Supah Toxic.”
Meanwhile, Vango, known for hits like “Sauce All on Me” and Latto’s “Infidelity” in 2018, dropped two LPs last year: Growing Pains and Lover Boy’s Revenge. The former featured fan favorites such as “All Over Again” and “Change.”
