Portuguese footballer Matheus Nunes, currently with Manchester City, has found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for alleged theft. Reports indicate that Nunes was taken into custody following an incident at the La Riviera nightclub in Madrid, Spain.

On the morning of September 8, authorities questioned Nunes regarding claims that he had stolen a smartphone. The incident reportedly unfolded around 5:30 AM when a 58-year-old patron attempted to photograph him without permission in the club’s restrooms. In a moment of frustration, Nunes allegedly snatched the phone and did not return it.

Police were called to the scene and, upon arrival, discovered the phone in Nunes’s possession. He was subsequently taken to a nearby police station for questioning.

Nunes, a 26-year-old player originally from Brazil, made headlines when he joined Manchester City two years ago for a transfer fee of €62 million. While he has shown potential, he has often been viewed as a backup option for manager Pep Guardiola. The recent incident raises questions about his off-field behavior and its impact on his career.
