The official cause of death for “Friends” star Matthew Perry remains unknown as of Sunday, pending a coroner’s investigation, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

No evident signs of trauma were reported, and the Los Angeles Police Department verified this to CBS Los Angeles station KCAL News. An autopsy was conducted on Sunday, with toxicology results awaiting confirmation, as revealed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Perry was discovered unresponsive in his jacuzzi on Saturday and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles City Fire Department. The actor was 54 years old.

Due to Perry’s celebrity status, detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division initiated a preliminary investigation, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.

Perry achieved stardom with his unforgettable portrayal of Chandler Bing in “Friends,” a sitcom that ran for ten seasons. In 2002, his performance earned him an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series.
