The Federal Government has expressed deep concern over the recent destruction of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) office in Kano State, which has resulted in significant financial losses.

Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, reacted to the news of the NCC’s Industrial Complex being looted and set on fire by protesters. The NCC Digital Park in Kano was set to launch next week as part of the federal government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, aimed at nurturing technical skills among the youth.

The building also houses the ministry’s “buildathon holiday maker program” for secondary school students, scheduled to start next week. Tijani lamented that the destruction caused by individuals who hijacked the peaceful protest has delayed crucial projects intended to create job opportunities and support youth development.

“It’s disheartening that our Digital Innovation Park in Kano, which was to support the 3MTT and host a program for students, has been destroyed by looters. This setback not only delays our efforts to advance technological skills but also wastes millions of Naira,” Tijani stated on his X handle.
