Nigerian rapper Remilekun Khalid Safaru, popularly known as Reminisce, has spoken out about the shifting dynamics in the music industry, claiming that money has become the driving force behind hit songs rather than the quality of the music itself.
Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, Reminisce explained how the landscape has evolved, emphasizing the role of big budgets in determining a song’s success.
“The game has entered a new phase,” he said. “It’s no longer just about the music. Hits are now a product of marketing budgets. If a song is trending, you can bet a lot was spent on its promotion.”
