The Ga Traditional Council has made adjustments to its guidelines concerning the closure of shops in preparation for the final funeral rites of the late queen, Naa Dedei Omaedru III.

Initially, the Council had instructed that all offices and shops within the Central Business District in the Greater Accra Region remain closed for a three-day period from the 26th to the 29th of October.

In a recent update, the Council issued a new directive indicating that offices and businesses would only be closed on Saturday, October 28, instead of the previously announced three-day duration.

“This amendment is in reference to our earlier notice dated 4th September 2023. The Ga Traditional Council has decided that shops and markets in Accra are to be closed solely on Saturday, the 28th of October 2023, and not from the 26th of October to the 29th of October 2023, as initially communicated,” the council stated in its recent announcement.

Furthermore, the Council emphasized that all markets, shops, and offices in Accra should be adorned with red and black, representing the mourning colors, from the 15th to the 31st of October 2023. The statement urged everyone to fully adhere to these instructions.
