‘We Are The World’ holds a significant place in music history. Originally written in 1985 by music legends Michael Jackson & Lionel Ritchie, the song was performed by numerous American music stars of that era.
Titled ‘USA for Africa’, the song was produced by the legendary Quincy Jones to draw global attention to the famine in Ethiopia.
In 2010, the song was covered by 25 celebrities assembled by Haitian star Wyclef Jean to highlight the impact of the earthquake in his home country.
Since its debut in 1985, ‘We Are The World’ has remained a powerful call to action for social justice, particularly in addressing issues concerning children.
