Former President Donald Trump is releasing a new book that includes private letters from politicians and celebrities, including one from Oprah Winfrey in 2000.
“Too bad we’re not running for office,” she wrote at the time, according to Axios. “Wow, what a TEAM!”
“I think he’d written a book and said he wanted me to be his running mate… if he decided to run,” Winfrey said.
“And when I found out that this letter was going to be published, I thought, ‘Oh, wasn’t that nice of me to write a note?’ That’s what I thought, because I’m always like, ‘Oh, I should write a note. I should write a note if this was done by someone else.’ “She stated. “So I’m really glad I wrote a note.”
However, she stated that she does not believe she and Trump would work well together.
“I could have thought it at the time. I could have said it 23 years ago “Gayle King of CBS News spoke with her.
“I’m not thinking about it right now,” she added.
According to Axios, “Letters to Trump” will include correspondence from other high-profile figures such as former President Bill Clinton, Princess Diana, and Richard Nixon, as well as North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
