Emir Sanusi Expresses Concern Over Nigeria’s Economic Hardship
Muhammadu Sanusi II has voiced his deep concern over the severe economic difficulties many Nigerians are currently facing.
At a recent event aimed at distributing free fertilizer to 52,800 smallholder farmers across Kano State, Sanusi highlighted the pressing need for support in these challenging times. The initiative, designed to ease economic strain and bolster food security, provides each farmer—including women and individuals with disabilities—with 25kg of fertilizer.
Speaking at the Government House alongside the new second-class Emirs of Gaya and Karaye, Sanusi described the current economic climate as “unbearable” and stressed the dire circumstances many Nigerians are enduring. He noted, “People are in a dire situation. I’ve heard that some are now buying only half a pepper due to the soaring cost of food. This is unacceptable, but initiatives like this can offer some much-needed relief.”
