Two people were killed on Sunday when thugs set fire to the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s campaign office in the state’s Tudun Wada Local Government Area. This was confirmed by the Kano State Police Command on Monday.
Four of the suspected hoodlums, according to SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s public relations officer, who confirmed the incident, have been taken into custody.
“At around 1600 hours, reports were received that a large group of thugs mobilized and attacked the campaign office of the NNPP House of Representatives candidate and set the building on fire while the collation of results was taking place at Tudun Wada LGA INEC Office.

According to Haruna in the article, “Two unknown people in a stationary car inside the building were burned to death as a result of the inferno.”
He claimed that the alleged hoodlums regrouped and attempted to block the entrance to the INEC office, and that security personnel was dispatched to the area right away.
One of the thugs was fatally hurt, he said and was rushed to the hospital where he passed away while receiving care.
According to him, an investigation was ongoing, and the suspects would face charges in court after that.
