The Edo State Police Command has verified reports of a significant abduction incident involving several individuals purportedly employed by Dangote Cement Company in Okpella, situated within the Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.

Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the Command, affirmed the occurrence during a conversation with Channels Television, revealing that efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped individuals are currently underway.

The workers were taken on Monday evening within the Etsako East Local Government Area.

Following the receipt of information regarding the incident, the Divisional Police Officer of Okpella Division promptly organized a team of operatives to conduct a thorough search of the surrounding areas.

Police personnel were joined by soldiers, vigilantes, and local hunters in this effort.

Nwabuzor mentioned that some of the kidnapped individuals have already been rescued.

The command has assured that additional details regarding the incident will be provided as the situation progresses.
