Inspector Mohammed Bulama, an officer with the Police Mobile Force in Damaturu, Yobe State, has been accused of fatally stabbing a 39-year-old man, Abdulmalik Dauda, following an argument that turned violent.

According to reports, the altercation between Bulama and Dauda, also known as Baksha, occurred over a dispute in the Zango Area of Damaturu. The situation escalated, resulting in Bulama allegedly stabbing Dauda in the chest. Bulama also sustained head injuries during the confrontation.

In response, the Yobe Police Command released a statement, with the Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirming that the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has ordered a full investigation into the tragic incident. The Commissioner condemned Bulama’s actions and expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.

“The Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate any misconduct by its officers,” the statement read. “We are committed to ensuring justice is served, and the responsible party is held accountable.”

Bulama has been arrested and is currently in custody while the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) carries out its investigation. The case will proceed to prosecution once internal disciplinary measures are completed.
