Pope Francis offers prayers at the Vatican for the victims of a tragic attack on a school in Uganda. The devastating incident in the town of Mpondwe claimed the lives of around 40 individuals, predominantly students, who were subjected to horrifying acts of violence including hacking, shooting, and burning. The Ugandan army is actively pursuing the militants responsible, identified as the ADF group, who managed to abduct six students before escaping across the border into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has strongly condemned the attack, labeling it as criminal, desperate, and ultimately futile. Meanwhile, grieving families have begun the solemn process of laying their loved ones to rest, as they try to cope with the unimaginable loss inflicted by this tragedy.
