Tension flared at a restaurant in Accra when a group of male employees from Quick Credit Ghana, a well-known loan company, barged in and got involved in a physical altercation with the restaurant staff. The situation escalated as they forcibly closed and locked up the establishment.

A video, shared on X by EDHUB, captured the moment these men entered the restaurant in Laterbiokorshie, a suburb of Accra. Despite resistance from the workers, the Quick Credit Ghana employees managed to dismantle and remove the furniture. EDHUB provided context, stating, “Staff members of Quick Credit Ghana stormed a restaurant at Laterbiokorshie, Accra, and attacked workers on duty before locking the place over an alleged unpaid loan.”

The specific details that led to this incident remain unclear, as neither Quick Credit Ghana nor the restaurant involved has provided comments on the matter. The incident has stirred a range of responses online, with many Ghanaians characterizing the intrusion and violence as unlawful. They are calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and address the actions of the loan company. On the flip side, some argue that certain debtors prove uncooperative, leaving creditors with no choice but to resort to force to recover their funds.

Here are some reactions to the video:

“Laws seem nonexistent! The sooner the authorities address these aggressive acts by Quick Credit, the better. Otherwise, it may escalate with potential retaliation from disgruntled clients,” commented @Hitwaddle on X.

“Workers were attacked? Were these the same workers who took the loan? These actions need to be halted,” expressed @fawogyimiiko, another user.

“Imagine if the business owner had been armed – it could lead to something more serious! We need to be proactive,” warned @iamphaya. “This is our behavior. When the restaurant was borrowing and promising repayment, it wasn’t an issue. Now that it’s time to pay, putting workers at the forefront to frustrate creditors and painting them as villains,” noted @komla_komla.
