Argentina’s Champions Trophy final game on Sunday saw 10 red cards given out by Qatar World Cup-bound referee Facundo Tello.
This came after Carlos Alcaraz, a player for Racing Club, started a brawl in front of the Boca Juniors supporters after scoring the game-winning goal.
In the last minutes of extra time, with the score at 1-1, Alcaraz headed a goal into the corner of the goal to give Racing Club the victory.
The Boca Juniors players were enraged at Alcaraz’s prolonged celebration in front of the opposing team’s supporters, as seen by video of them grabbing Alcaraz by the ear and hurling a ball at him.
After the altercations, Tello, one of the referees at the World Cup in Qatar, dismissed Alcaraz and issued five red cards to Boca Juniors players.
Over the course of the game, Boca Juniors players received a total of seven red cards, while Racing Club players received three.
