Rihanna arrived on the Oscars’ champagne-colored carpet in a sheer, form-fitting gown, her baby bumps proudly on display — her first high-profile public appearance since last month’s Super Bowl.
The singer, who was nominated for best original song at the awards, wore a designer label Alaa leather bra and maxi skirt combo layered over a mesh turtleneck. She finished the eye-catching look with bright red lips and nails.

The singer, who is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky, later performed “Lift Me Up,” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” after changing into another Maison Margiela belly-baring ensemble. The crystal-encrusted black bra and floral pants set with golden accents were custom-made for her by John Galliano, the label’s creative director, and were completed with elbow-length black leather gloves.

Rihanna changed into a custom Bottega Veneta mint green bustier and matching skirt for her third look of the night. She posed for photos with A$AP Rocky before rejoining the audience to watch the rest of the performance.

The song, her first single in six years, was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award in January. She competed against fellow singer Lady Gaga, whose song “Hold My Hand” was featured in “Top Gun: Maverick.” The song “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian film “RRR” eventually won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe Awards.

Rihanna announced her pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime show in February. She also wore Alaa that evening, as part of a custom-made all-red ensemble that included pieces by the Spanish label Loewe.
The actress has helped to redefine maternity fashion by wearing crop tops and lacy sheer sets throughout her first pregnancy.

“When I discovered I was pregnant, I told myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in a maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry, but dressing up is too much fun “She told Vogue for the magazine’s cover story in May 2022. “I’m not going to let that part of my body fade away because my body is changing.”

Rihanna posted a photo of her visibly upset first child on Instagram last week with the caption, “My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him,” to which a follower commented, “The other sibling got to appear as a special guest at the Super Bowl and now The OSCARS?”
