Following severe flooding in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, at least 70 bodies have been recovered.
Floodwater and mud slides have reportedly destroyed homes in two villages in South Kivu province, Bushushu, and Nyamukubi.

The governor described it as a disaster.
Flooding has also destroyed over 1,000 shelters built for people displaced by war in Ituri province.
At least 130 people have died in floods and landslides in neighboring Rwanda’s north and west.
