In connection with the murder of Takeoff, a suspect has been taken into custody.

According to information released by the Houston Police Department on Friday during a news conference, a 33-year-old male was detained and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of the rapper from the group Migos outside a Houston bowling alley last month.

On Thursday evening, Patrick Xavier Clark was taken into custody in Houston. According to Chief Troy Finner, a second individual, Cameron Joshua, 22, was detained on November 22 on suspicion of felony firearm possession.

After attending a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling on November 1, Takeoff, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and died. After the party ended, a fight broke out and at least two weapons were used to fire rounds, according to the police.

Takeoff was not a party to the argument and was not armed. According to authorities, nearly all of the nearly 30 people who were present when the incident occurred left without providing a statement to the police.

Takeoff’s death was attributed to “penetrating gunshot wounds of the head and chest into the arm,” according to the Harris County Medical Examiner.

After Takeoff passed away, his record company Quality Control Music issued a statement in which they expressed their sorrow over the tragic loss and claimed that Takeoff died as a result of “senseless violence and a stray bullet.”

At a star-studded memorial held at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena last month, thousands of family members and friends came together to celebrate Takeoff’s life. Offset, Quavo, and Drake all paid their respects.
