The Weeknd appears to be planning a surprise appearance at this year’s Coachella.

The Canadian pop star retweeted a post from fan account @abelstargirlllll on Wednesday, claiming he will return to the Indio, California festival. Coachella 2023 will be held on the weekends of April 14-16 and April 21-23 and will feature performances by Frank Ocean, Blackpink, and Bad Bunny.

On Monday, Abel may have hinted at this by tweeting a desert emoji with a question mark, followed by a post asking, “Where will you find me?”

Another hint can be found in the replies to the retweeted post. A fan shared a video of Abel’s recent Instagram Live session, in which he told someone in the background that they had just “exposed” his surprise Coachella appearance.

“On Live, you just said, ‘See you in the desert.'” “Exposed,” The Weeknd said to the person, who appeared to be on the phone at the time.

The announcement comes just days after The Weeknd teased new music on Instagram Live. He teased that his next release, The Idol Vol. 1, a companion album to his upcoming HBO series of the same name, will be available “soon.”

This month, The Weeknd teased several new songs, including a collaboration with Future and a cover of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.” Check out the Instagram clips below for track previews.
