WHATSAPP users have a few tricks up their sleeves that allow them to read texts without the sender knowing.
Whatever the reason, these tips can give users more time to come up with the perfect text response.
One method is to hold down the message when it appears on an Apple iPhone’s locked screen.
The super stealth mode’ feature opens a preview box of the full text as long as you keep your finger on the screen.
The trick completely bypasses the app, so the sender will never know it was read.
Another option is to disable Read Receipts.
This feature is enabled by default for WhatsApp’s 2 billion users.
It means that when the two small ticks on the bottom right of the message turn blue, it means that the message has been read.
To disable this feature, open Settings in the WhatsApp app.
Click Account > Privacy > Reading Receipts > then turn the toggle off.
However, there is one minor caveat.
This feature does not apply to group chat messages, photos, or videos.
Similarly, even if you have the read receipts option disabled, you cannot avoid the blue ticks when someone sends you a voice message.
After receiving a message, a third option is to activate airplane mode on the iPhone.
Because airplane mode disables the smartphone’s access to 4G and WiFi, WhatsApp will not recognize that the message has been read.
