It appears that we will continue to see a Nigerian president waving and grinning from the open door of the presidential jet.
It is a sight Nigerians have grown accustomed to under Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency (who is currently receiving dental care in London), and it appears that it will continue under Bola Tinubu, the 71-year-old incoming president.
Since winning the election in February after a grueling months-long campaign, Mr. Tinubu has traveled abroad twice. These trips raise concerns about his health in light of the challenging job that lies ahead.

Many people do not believe this to be the “work trip” that Mr. Tinubu’s aides have described it as because he does not have official authority until he is sworn in on May 29.
Whatever his motivation, he appears to be joining other African leaders who favor vacations, state meetings, or regular medical checkups abroad.
While the person he will succeed preferred the UK, Mr. Tinubu’s preferred location is close by in France.
