President Faye of Senegal made his maiden visit to Nigeria since assuming office as the youngest president in Senegalese history in April. Upon his arrival at the State House in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu warmly welcomed him.
The 44-year-old Senegalese president arrived at the Villa at 3:09 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024. This visit marks his first official trip to Nigeria since taking office.
Earlier, the announcement of President Faye’s visit was made by Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media. Olusegun shared a video and photo showcasing the State House adorned with Senegalese and Nigerian flags side by side.

In one of his posts, Olusegun shared images of both presidents holding brooms, captioning it “Broom boys link up,” indicating a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the two nations.
