In Australia, former crocodile expert Adam Britton was sentenced to over 10 years in prison on Thursday for a series of horrific crimes involving the abuse and killing of dogs, along with other offenses. The 53-year-old Britton, who had previously gained respect as a crocodile expert, pleaded guilty to 63 charges including bestiality, animal cruelty, and possession of child abuse material.

Northern Territory Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Grant condemned Britton’s actions as “unspeakable” and “grotesque.” According to reports, Britton acquired 42 dogs online between 2020 and 2022, under the guise of providing them with a “good home.” Instead, he filmed himself sexually abusing and killing the dogs in a shipping container on his Darwin property. The disturbing footage was shared via Telegram.

Britton, originally from the UK, had previously worked with BBC and National Geographic. He was arrested in 2022. Alongside his prison term, Britton will be eligible for parole in April 2028 and has been permanently banned from owning mammals.
