No more trips to Dubai soon.

The UAE has reportedly barred nationals from 20 African countries from entering Dubai, its capital city.

“This is to notify you that we will no longer be posting 30-day visa applications for these nationalities beginning today, October 18, 2022,” the notice stated in part.

Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros, and the Dominican Republic are among the countries affected by the visa ban.

Authorities stated in a notice sent to trade partners, including travel agents, that all applications should be rejected.

“Any applications received from the aforementioned countries will be returned or canceled.” According to media reports.

This is not the first time that some African countries have been denied entry to Dubai.

Due to the spread of Covid 19, Emirates Airlines announced in December 2021 that eight African countries would be barred from flying through Dubai until further notice.

However, the reason for the latest ban is unknown.
