WhatsApp is now available on WhatsApp.
The chat app has its own official WhatsApp account (via WABetaInfo(Opens in a new tab)), with which you can chat to receive platform updates and usage tips.
According to the outlet, the feature is available for both iPhone and Android users running the latest version of WhatsApp, but it appears to be limited to a small group of users.
There is no way to manually activate this chat or find WhatsApp as a user in its own app; instead, you will receive a message from WhatsApp allowing you to begin the chat. It is unknown how many users have received the feature or when it will be available to all.
WhatsApp began with an explanation of disappearing messages, a feature first introduced in 2020 and refined over time.
