Young M.A. gives an update on her health.
Following a viral video of her incoherently mumbling while seated in a barber’s chair, fans were concerned for her well-being. Fans also noticed that her eyes were yellow, leading them to believe that she was an alcoholic.
She is assuring fans, however, that she is on the mend. M.A. revealed in an Instagram Story on Easter Sunday that she had a “small setback,” but that she is on the road to recovery and remains sober.

“It’s just a minor setback for a comeback.” “Unfortunately, I made a lot of bad decisions in my life, and things are finally catching up with you,” she explained.
“Aside from that, I’m actually doing a lot better. I’ve been feeling better. “I’ve been sober for a long time,” she added.
She intends to release new music soon and tell more of her story in an upcoming documentary. “I keep my personal problems to myself,” she explained, “but now it’s time to expand on that and express it to y’all.” “It’s going to be one of those M.A summers.” I guarantee it.”
She also had a message for her fans: “I’m still here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

Fans speculated that she had liver damage from excessive drinking after the haircut video went viral. Her barber, Fats Da Barber, was also chastised for posting the video, claiming that M.A. gave her permission.
M.A. announced in June 2021 that she was going to rehab to battle an unspecified addiction. She hasn’t released new music since her album Off the Yak in May 2021.
