GloRilla’s concert ended tragically, with one person killed and several others injured.

False reports of a shooting sparked a stampede after Glorilla’s performance with Finesse2Tymes at Rochester’s Main Street Armory on Sunday night. According to The Associated Press, the stampede killed one person and injured nine others, two of whom were critically injured.

The crowd surge occurred near the end of the concert, around 11 p.m. Inside, police discovered three women in critical condition.

Police believe the crowd pushed toward exits after people reportedly heard what they thought were gunshots.

A 33-year-old woman died in the hospital, and the other two were critically injured. Seven more people were taken to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Upon further investigation… none of the victim’s injuries were consistent with a person being shot,” Rochester police Lt. Nicholas Adams told CNN. “The injuries appear to be the result of a large crowd pushing towards the exits after reports of people hearing what they thought were gunshots.”

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans called the fatal stampede “an epic tragedy” and promised an investigation. “We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night,” Evans stated emphatically.

GloRilla addressed the tragic event on Twitter around midnight on Sunday.

“I’m only now hearing about what happened wtf,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’m hoping everyone is okay.”

Following the 2021 tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, where ten people died, crowd surges have become a recurring safety concern.
