Prince Harry is said to be skipping the Coronation concert in order to avoid awkward encounters with pop singer Katy Perry. Perry made flirtatious remarks about Prince Harry on The Graham Norton Show in 2012. When asked about rumors that Prince Harry had asked her to join the guest list for the late Queen’s diamond jubilee “by name,” Perry responded, “Prince Harry? Isn’t he a hot ginger?”

When comedian Ross Noble joked that Harry was famous for his love of women, Perry responded, “I’d be open to that.” Perry also made a joke about Cheryl, who was seen chatting with Harry at the Jubilee Concert after party, saying, “Get off my man!”

Meghan is said to hold a grudge against Perry for making a critical comment about her wedding dress during a promotional tour in the United States for American Idol, where Perry said she “would’ve done one more fitting” in relation to the wedding dress Meghan was wearing.

Harry will avoid any awkward encounter

It’s unclear how much these comments influenced Harry’s decision to skip the Coronation concert, but it’s a possibility. “Meghan is acutely aware of a comment made by Katy Perry about her wedding dress in 2018 and is notorious for holding a grudge,” a source told The Daily Star. While the remark was not meant to be hurtful, Meghan was feeling under siege at the time, overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle.” Meghan appears to be still hurt by the comments, which she is said to have “held a grudge” over following the wedding dress comments.

In any case, because Harry will not be at the Coronation concert, there will be no awkwardness with Perry.

The concert, which will be attended by 20,000 people, will feature big names like Take That and Lionel Richie.
