Nigerians have reacted to Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta’s omission from the nominations for the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA.

Multichoice announced the nomination lists for the upcoming 2023 awards a few days ago. During the announcement, Nollywood stars such as Kunle Afolayan, Femi Adebayo, Funke Akindele, and others received significant nominations.

Funke Akindele received ten nominations for her box office smash, Battle on Buka Street. She was nominated in nine AMVCA categories for Battle on Buka Street, and one for her Africa Magic series, My Siblings & I.

A Nollywood movie influencer noticed Ibrahim Chatta’s omission from Femi Adebayo’s film King of Thieves nomination. His pivotal role was instrumental in the film’s success.

Many people commented online that Ibrahim Chatta is a brilliant actor who is excellent at interpreting different roles. He has delivered flawlessly since his first appearance on the big screen as an actor.

Ibukunoluwa wrote: Make no other scene for that movie, this scene alone deserves an award!!! He is a fantastic actor.

“Ibrahim Chatta is an ENIGMA,” wrote one Moyinoluwa. Whether or not you are nominated…”U ARE A PHENOMENAL THESPIAN,” I dare to say.

“Ibrahim Chatta is underrated asf,” one Olawunmi wrote, “there is no role he does not do justice to.”

“I like that AGESINKOLE movie because of him.” Call me Shine stated.

Another user, Bukky Majek, commented, “I still don’t understand why this great actor has always been underrated shush well, doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best actor of his generation.”

Similarly, netizens chastised the AMVCA organizers for leaving out Kunle Afolayan’s ANIKULAPO, Kunle Remi. Many people watched the movie because of his role as Saro.
